ADK A6 Large Diaphragm Condenser Microphone

The ADK A6 has been designed to be reliable and robust with a relatively "neutral" sound colouration. This means that you can use the A6 on almost anything and get a great sound. The dynamic range was set to allow for moderately heavy sound pressure levels but keeping digital recording in mind, the noise floor is also appreciably low. Ever since Pink Floyd's Dark Side Of The Moon, audio engineering and space exploration have enjoyed a close relationship. It makes sense, then, that ADK's Custom Shop would have been able to recruit a "rocket scientist" to design the capsules (get it?) for their custom microphones. The upside of this, as ADK founder Larry Villella tells us, is one of the highest-quality capsules available. The downside: each capsule costs the American taxpayer $1.6 billion.
