The Tube MP Studio V3 features ART's new V3 (Variable Valve Voicing) Technology - found only in ART microphone preamplification systems. V3 provides optimized reference points to begin the recording process. The V3 presets were created and fine-tuned by some of the industry's top studio and live-sound engineers, along with a veteran engineering department. V3 allows you to select between a multitude of preamp settings designed for guitars (electric and acoustic), keyboards, bass guitars, drums, vocals, and more.

Adding a low-cost, one-channel mic pre is a great way to expand the tonal palette of your simple recording setup. But the ART Tube MP Studio V3 takes that concept one step further with its Variable Valve Voicing circuit. By adding a few preset EQ options — not to mention a variable output protection limiter — the Studio V3 becomes a lot more than a simple preamplifier, and takes one step into channel-strip land. Other than the OPL, V3, and analog VU, meter, however, the Studio V3 is basically the same as the ART Tube MP. Owen O'Malley put the V3 through its paces to determine if the V3 circuit is really worth the added cost vs the simpler Tube MP. |

What can I say? This song touches me deep down to my core and brings me in tune with the depth of true love and the pain that comes along with it. In spite of the shakiness here and there, I hope I did right by Adele and her beautiful music, and I hope you all enjoy it :) Special thanks to Vinh and David for the filming, and to William for editing and the beautiful keyboard accompaniment. A short doc about a kinetic sculpture that took four years to build. We had the honor of spending three days in Chris Burden's studio filming this sculpture before it was moved to the Los Angeles Country Museum of Art (LACMA) where it is being reinstalled. The installation opens fall 2011. Chris Burden is one of our favorite artists of all time. Recorded on February 1st, 2010, in the same studio as the original 25 years earlier (Henson Recording Studios, formerly A&M Recording Studios) "We Are The World 25 For Haiti", in which Quincy Jones and Lionel Richie serve as executive producers and producers, was created in collaboration with executive producers Wyclef Jean, Randy Phillips and Peter Tortorici; producers Humberto Gattica and RedOne; and co-producers Rickey Minor, Mervyn Warren and Patti Austin to benefit the Haitian earthquake relief efforts and the rebuilding of Haiti. Academy Award-winning writer-director Paul Haggis (Crash, Million Dollar Baby), whose own personal efforts as well as those of Artists for Peace and Justice have already saved countless lives in Haiti, filmed the private recording session to create the accompanying video and behind-the-scenes production, and serves as Film Director and as an Executive Producer with Jones, Richie, Jean, Phillips and Tortorici. The 25th Anniversary recording features over 80 artists and performers. The recording of We Are The World 25 For Haiti embodied the same enthusiasm, sense of purpose and generosity as the original recording 25 years ago. Every one of the artists who participated, regardless of genre or generation, walked into the room with their hearts and souls completely open to coming together to help the people of Haiti. |
